California Women for Agriculture 2016 Farm Day Photo Gallery

Photos from the California Women of Agriculture (CWA) Farm Day held in May 2016 at Atlas School in Ventura.

Each year, CWA (California Women for Agriculture) chooses a school to host Farm Day. Over 30 farmers and agriculture-related organizations set up educational booths. Classrooms have 10 minutes at each booth to learn about all the amazing aspects of agriculture.

“Eat Local – Hug a Farmer” was the theme of Totally Local VC’s booth. Founder Kat Merrick, along with Suzanne Blanco, spoke about what grows in our county, the farmers that produce it and all the benefits of eating local. They handed out over 600 glasses of Limoneira lemonade, 400 Limoneira lemons, 180 Wicked Wire Ranch avocados and presented boxes of strawberries to teachers along with fun educational materials for teachers to share with their classrooms.
